Approximately
400 acres of land on Burke Mountain was purchased from the government
of British Columbia and private landowners in 2002. Working closely
with the local residents, environmental stakeholders and the
City of Coquitlam and after extensive community consultation,
the first parcels of lands were re-zoned in the Spring of 2006.
Construction has begun as the first land sales occurred in early 2007. This project will be home to over 5,000 residents when completed and the 400 acres will be turned into approximately 1,300 housing units with a mix of density including large single family, small single family, row homes and traditional town homes.
